SIFF brings three more Arabic short films to Aljada following successful launch night

23 September 2020

Sharjah International Film Festival (SIFF) returns to Aljada this Thursday with three more amazing films for you and your family to enjoy.

This is the second night Arada and SIFF have teamed up following a packed launch night in August.

The selection of films is specially curated by SIFF and features the best of up-and-coming Arabic directors.

The Investors, directed by Saudi Arabia’s Khalid Fahad, is the story of an intriguing conversation between two men who meet in a prison cell and find out that there are many similarities in their past lives.

Sadeya Left Sultan, by Saudi Arabia’s Jawaher Alamri, tells the tale of an out-of-work doctor who brings a doll to life in an attempt to reach out to his long-lost daughter.

The Job, directed by Kuwait’s Maryam Alabbad, is the story of a young man’s mission to find a job in a world where robots work longer, better and faster.

All three films will be shown back to back from 7pm onwards. Entry to Aljada’s drive-in cinema is free and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Founded in 2013, SIFF is the first film festival in the Middle East that is dedicated to children and youth, and is managed by Sharjah Media Arts for Youth and Children (FUNN), an organisation established by the Government of Sharjah under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah.

The festival is designed to showcase the very best in filmmaking that is for, by and about children and young people, as well as raising their media literacy and creativity.
